On my wish list: Dutch Oven

Thanks to my wedding, I have just about everything a girl could hope for in the kitchen. Food processor, immersion blender, crock pot... even a tiny little salad dressing mixer.

But there's one thing I don't have.

One thing that I've been longing, yearning for.

Yeah baby! A Le Creuset dutch oven!

This is at the very top of my stuff-to-buy-for-the-new-place list. I've paid my dues, I've waited long enough! My goal is to get this beauty by the end of the year.

What's on your kitchen wish list?

  2. I've picked up some Le Creuset stonewear at Marshall's for a song but still haven't happened upon my dream dutch oven there, yet. I believe it's only a matter of time, lol.

As for my wish list I just crossed off a major item by treating myself to a Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker. We made our first batch of ice cream this weekend and already love it to bits!

  4. I still don't have a mixer! My husband is my mixer until I get one. I also really want a bundt pan for cakes.

  5. I totally agree! I got lots of great stuff for my wedding as well but I've been wanting that exact same dutch oven (just in a different color). I also want a full size food processor. I have a great Cuisnart Mini Chopper that I use all the time but want a big one.

  7. I have a Martha Stewart one from our wedding registry (Macy's) and it is FANTASTIC. I use it all the time!! Definitely worth the money! I love Le Creuset's colors, especially.

  8. I would also consider Mario Batali's line of enameled cast iron - they have some different sizes (I got a 4.5qt round) and colors, and are also great quality for less price. Usually I don't jump on the 'celebrity chef merchandise' bandwagon because a lot of it isn't very good, but this worked out great for me. Gotta love the Le Creuset though! :)

  9. Hey Katie!

I don't think we've formally met, but I'm Danielle, Chris Schulman's wife. I love love love your blog! I just had to post on this... Just like you, we totally received everything we could possibly want from our wedding, but the other day I told Chris I wanted a dutch oven (the one thing I forgot to register for) and he was like "what's so special about a dutch oven?" I told him it's the same reason we have a Pink Kitchenaid stand mixer... it's just one of those things you need to have in your kitchen arsenault!

Any thoughts on what may make the Le Creuset better than the Martha or Mario Batali line? Do you think they would produce the same results?

Hope your move is going well!

    Danielle

  10. These are so good for camping!
I remember many a meal-in-a-pot dinners with girl scouts. Or even better...dessert-in-a-pot.
